Role Overview
The Technical Consultant is responsible for analyzing and optimizing application performance within Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 / D365 F&O, focusing on X++ code, batch processing, integrations, and system behavior.
This role is ideal for technical professionals who enjoy diagnosing bottlenecks, improving scalability, and working closely with development and database teams to deliver high-performing enterprise systems.
System Performance Analysis
Investigate system issues across major business modules and identify root causes affecting performance.
X++ Code Optimization
Refactor and improve code quality to enhance execution speed, stability, and maintainability.
Batch & Resource Tuning
Optimize scheduling, parallel execution, and resource utilization for better system throughput.
Technical Troubleshooting
Use diagnostic tools and collaborate with database teams to resolve bottlenecks and improve responsiveness.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze current system performance issues across modules such as Finance, Procurement, Inventory, and Retail.
- Refactor and optimize X++ code to improve performance and scalability.
- Optimize batch jobs, including scheduling, parallel execution, and resource utilization.
- Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in forms, services, and integrations.
- Work closely with the Database team to improve data access and query performance.
- Use tools such as Trace Parser, LCS, and performance profiling tools.
- Support performance testing, root cause analysis, and issue resolution.
Required Skills
- Strong experience in Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 / D365 Finance & Operations.
- Strong hands-on experience with X++.
- Solid understanding of AOS architecture and the batch framework.
- Proven experience in performance tuning and troubleshooting.
- Good knowledge of SQL Server and database interaction.
- Experience with debugging and performance analysis tools.
